In the course of their medical practice, the three founders identified a major problem in the healthcare system related to medication errors.
In the United States alone, 1 million individuals are seen in hospital emergency departments for adverse drug events¹, and it is predicted that there will be 4.6 million hospitalizations of older Americans over the next decade². In light of all this, Synapse Medicine (a spin-off from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research [Inserm] and Bordeaux University Hospital) developed its Medication Intelligence platform within two years of R&D, which is dedicated to improving medication use. Synapse Medicine's technology is therefore used by healthcare professionals such as doctors and pharmacists to help them in their daily work, but also by telemedicine companies, pharmacy groups, insurance companies, hospitals, and healthcare clinics.
